Robots

The Missouri S&T Combat Robotics Team was founded in the spring of 2019 and officially made its competitive debut in the spring of 2021. That year, we entered the 15 lb division with Ankle Grinder and introduced a new 30 lb robot called Option 14. Both robots performed exceptionally well, securing 4th place in their respective categories and earning an invitation to the championships.

In a follow-up event in April 2021, Ankle Grinder excelled further, taking 3rd place in combat and 1st place in engineering documentation, leading to a 2nd place overall finish.

During the 2021-2022 season, we competed with Krankenwagen in the 15 lb division. Krankenwagen earned 3rd place overall, while the team took 1st place in engineering documentation.

In the 2022-2023 season, we returned to BotsKC in Kansas City, Missouri, with Coriolis, an upgraded version of Krankenwagen. Coriolis placed 3rd in combat, and we achieved 2nd place overall in engineering documentation.

Most recently, in the 2023-2024 season, we competed with two robots: Sir Slams-a-Lot and Chuckles McSpin. Sir Slams-a-Lot claimed 1st place overall at BotsKC, with both robots doing well overall thanks to our strong performance in both documentation—finishing 1st and 2nd respectively—and combat, where we placed 3rd and 4th respectively.

For the 2024-2025 season, we have two 15 lb. robots planned, and one experimental robot in the works. One of our 15 lb. robots is V1, based on the main character from the hit game ULTRAKILL, and sponsored by its publisher, New Blood Interactive
