Biography

Dr. Arezoo Emdadi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Missouri S&T. Her research focuses on analytical (mathematical) and numerical modeling of material microstructure, processes, and properties on multi-time and length scales to better understand the material paradigm and design advanced and tailored engineered materials. Dr. Emdadi graduated from Tehran University in Iran with a Ph.D. in structural engineering in 2009. Further, Missouri S&T awarded her a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering in 2018. Application of engineering materials for extreme environments, understanding of novel processing methods, and new fabrication processes are the key research areas that have been the focus of her research with respect to modeling material properties suited to the needs of specific applications. Given the interdisciplinary nature of her research, Dr. Emdadi established collaborations with colleagues across different departments to develop research proposals. She is affiliated with the Materials Research Center (MRC), the Kent D. Peaslee Steel Manufacturing Research Center (PSMRC), the Center for Aerospace and Manufacturing Technologies (CAMT), the High-Performance Computing Center (HPC), and the Intelligent System Center (ISC). She has been leading and collaborating on different research projects supported by AFRL, AFOSR, and DOE.
