Biography
Dr. Guang Xu earned his bachelors degree at China University of Mining and Technology, and Ph. D. at Virginia Tech, all in Mining Engineering. Before joining MST, he worked 6 years as a faculty at Curtin University in Australia. Dr. Xu has expertise in in mine ventilation and safety, air quality controls, and fire safety. He secured significant research funding from both federal agencies (NIOSH, NSF, EPA) and industry sponsors (BHP, Anglo American) with his own share of over $1 million. He has published over 70 peer reviewed journal papers with total number of citations amounts to 2058 and h-index of 28. His Ventilation, Safety & Health Lab (VSH Lab) Group currently has 4 PhD students, one masters student, and 2 postdoc researchers.
