Dr. Jeffery Thomas

Teaching Professor of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering

Biography

Dr. Thomas has taught classes in engineering mechanics and engineering design since 1996. He has a BS and MS in mechanical engineering and a PhD in engineering mechanics from Missouri S&T. He currently works as a teaching professor in the department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering and assists with the Cooperative Engineering Program between Missouri S&T and Missouri State University. He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Missouri.

Dr. Thomas has technical interests in mechanical characterization, construction, and the influence of force on biological systems. His artistic interests are in music and poetry. He played percussion with a southern-rock band for a number of years, recorded three albums, and designed custom drum equipment. He and his wife have two sons and a daughter.
