Introduction

Please complete this form to request a DOI for a new or existing item in Scholars Mine.

Important Information:

  • We assign a DOI per submission, not per file.
  • Scholars’ Mine automatically assigns a unique identifier to all items. This identifier is simply a different form of persistent and unique identifier from the DOI. Both forms are good quality and standard practice, but some people prefer DOIs which is why we offer this option.
  • Fill out as much information as possible when submitting this request. This allows us to connect related research products together for better discoverability.

This form will request three categories of metadata: Mandatory, Recommended and Optional. You must complete the Mandatory section. We suggest you provide as much information as possible for the Recommended and Optional sections.  Additional information about metadata properties can be found in Metadate Properties. The library may modify, add or delete metadata to conform to best practices.

After you submit this form the submission will be reviewed and you will be contacted if we require additional information. You will be notified via email when the DOI request is active. Please allow for at least 2 weeks for the request to be processed.
