This fall brings a lot of changes to spaces in the library. The Writing and Communications Center will be moving to their new home on the the second floor. Several new study and seating areas have been added, and we are in the process of creating a dedicated graduate student lounge in the basement. We have also added additional seating options.
- Additional configurable group study space has been created on the second floor.
- Additional soft seating has been added on the second floor.
- A new smart computer classroom (201c) with 50 computer stations has been completed on the second floor and is ready for classes scheduled this fall. When not in use as a classroom, this space is open for student use. The Office of the Registrar coordinates the use of this space for academic (class-related) events. To reserve this space for non-academic events, please visit: http://havener.mst.edu/reservations/index.html.
- The former map room in the basement floor is being renovated to become our Graduate Student Study Lounge with card swipe access and will be ready sometime this Fall.
- A Miner Oasis has been created on the first floor so students can have a respite from studying and have access to wellness information.
Curtis Laws Wilson Library is undergoing a comprehensive space study; a university-wide committee appointed by Chancellor Dehghani is tasked with working with architects and facilities this semester to develop a forward-thinking space and utilization plan. The committee will be reaching out to the campus community for your feedback and insights.
