Biography
Mathew Goldberg teaches creative writing, composition, and contemporary literature. He holds a BSE in Electrical and Biomedical engineering from Duke University and a MFA from the University of Arkansas.
He is the faculty advisor for Southwinds, the university’s literary magazine, and he is an advisor for the creative writing minor, which he co-designed.
Night Watch, his debut collection of short stories was the recipient of the Spokane Prize for Short Fiction and was published in 2025 by Willow Springs Books. His stories have appeared in The Atlantic, Shenandoah, and American Short Fiction, among others. His short story collection placed as a finalist for the Iron Horse Literary Review Book Prize, and he received a Special Mention for a Pushcart Prize. He can be found at mathewgoldberg.com.
