Welcome Austin, Sam, Bridget, and Nazifa to the lab!
Austin is the first PhD student to join the lab. He is a Bioengineering PhD student who will be studying how the human gut microbiome has adapted to the everpresent microplastic pollution.
Sam is a senior in Chemical Engineering who will graduate in May 2025. He will study sustainable alternatives to PFAS.
Bridget is a freshman in Chemical Engineering with a Biochemical focus. She will study the use of plastics in everyday products, which may contribute to microplastics in our bodies.
Nazfia is a Research Assistant in the lab. She brings a unique background to our lab. Having graduated with her BS in Chemical Engineering from Western Michigan University in April 2024 and spending time in industry, she will help us investigate how simple swamps in our daily lives can reduce our exposure to microplastics.
