Prof. Paul N. Runnion

Biography

Prof. Paul N. Runnion is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Missouri S&T, having joined the department in August 2011.  After completing both his BS (2005) and MS (2007) in Applied Mathematics at the University of Missouri – Rolla, Prof. Runnion spent four years as an instructor at Adirondack Community College in Queensbury NY before returning to Rolla.  At Missouri S&T, Prof. Runnion teaches a variety of undergraduate courses ranging from Intermediate Algebra through Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and Foundations of Mathematics.  Prof. Runnion currently coordinates Calculus III, having also coordinated Calculus I-A, Calculus I-B, Calculus I, Calculus II, and Differential Equations during his time in the department. Prof. Runnion has also led the department’s various Calculus Redesign initiatives since 2013, served as Director of Undergraduate Studies from September 2017 – August 2023, and has served as the primary undergraduate advisor for the department since 2017.
