Biography

Dr. Daniel Reardon serves as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education (CASE) at Missouri S&T, where he brings over three decades of experience in higher education. A scholar and teacher with a rich background in literary studies, performing arts, and human-computer interaction, Dr. Reardon has taught and led across multiple disciplines.

As Associate Dean, he works closely with departments across CASE to support academic excellence, strategic planning, and faculty development. His leadership emphasizes equitable workload distribution, evidence-based teaching, and the integration of emerging technologies into learning environments.

A native of Kansas City, Dr. Reardon began his academic career as a lecturer at UMKC and Missouri S&T. He has held roles ranging from instructor to program director and associate chair, and he has a long-standing commitment to interdisciplinary education. He is especially passionate about building industry partnerships and expanding opportunities for students through internships, co-ops, and faculty-led study abroad.

In the classroom, Dr. Reardon is known for his innovative use of technology, particularly AI, to foster creativity and critical thinking. He teaches courses in Science Fiction and Fantasy Literature, often collaborating with Clara, a custom AI assistant, to help students explore narrative worlds and reimagine the boundaries of learning.

Outside of academia, Dr. Reardon is an actor in university and community theatre productions, an avid gamer, and a devoted dog and cat dad. He enjoys spirited conversation and the occasional Tolkien marathon with his family.
