The STEM Day is a national event which is celebrated annually on November 8th. In par with our mission, the Kummer Center for STEM Education brings this experience to underserved and underrepresented communities in Missouri. In 2022, 945 middle and high school students from across the state were hosted at the S&T campus for the National STEM Day. The Center’s purpose is to ignite the STEM spark in these students and show them what a future as a STEM professional could mean for them.
Students are registered and participate in the event for free. Registration includes access to activities such as robot shows, view of the planetarium, tour around campus, and much more.
Preparations are underway for even more students to attend the one-day event on Wednesday, Nov. 8 this year. The center seeks exciting workshops, demonstrations, tours and more that these students can attend to get them excited about STEM. To do this, it takes the support of all the departments on campus including student, faculty and staff volunteers from across the S&T community.
