Biography

Dr. Schuman is a Professor of Chemistry in Missouri S&T. He joined the Chemistry Department of the university as an Assistant Professor (1999 – 2005), he rose through the ranks to became an Associate Professor (2005 – 2015) and has since 2015 worked as a Professor of Chemistry. Prior to joining, Missouri S&T, Dr. Schuman worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Polymer Science in the University of Southern Mississippi (1993 -1999) and as a Good Manufacturing Procedure (cGMP) author, auditor, and synthetic chemist for Shearwater Polymers (1992 – 1993).

Dr. Schuman is a member of the American Chemical Society and has served the society in various capacities since he became a member in 1990. He is also a member of the Missouri S&T Teacher Education Program Advisory Board (2005 to date). Additionally, Dr. Schuman has served and still serves as an author for several journals including such as Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, Journal of Materials Research, and Journal of Coatings Technology.
