Public Scholars Workshops

We are a multidisciplinary group of researchers with the shared goal of reaching broader audiences outside academia. We meet in the Collaboratory HSS G1, 8:00 AM – 9:30AM, one Wednesday a month. A light breakfast is provided.

December 3, 2025

Crafting a proposal for Object Lessons, a trade book series published by Bloomsbury. Chris will workshop individual proposals in person.

February 4, 2026

Hannah Sussman, university liaison and Molly Jackson, Ethics and Religion editor are coming to campus to workshop pitches with faculty.

Breakfast workshop 8-9:30 am, with individual meetings to follow throughout the day.

March 4, 2026

Mark Yakich is the Gregory F. Curtin, S.J. Distinguished Professor of English and Director of the Center for Editing & Publishing at Loyola University New Orleans. His writing about education has appeared in Inside Higher Ed and The Atlantic.

April 22, 2026

Dr. Rothman is a staff writer at The New Yorker. He writes the Open Questions weekly column, as well as profiles of thinkers in various disciplines. Prior to this, he was the magazine’s ideas editor.
