Biography
Dr. Wenyu Liao is an Assistant Research Professor in Civil Engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology (S&T). He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Missouri S&T and a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering with a minor in Construction Management from China. With over a decade of experience in the field of Civil Engineering, Dr. Liao have dedicated his career to exploring sustainable solutions for the climate change and waste recycling challenges we face in the world today. His research interests include carbon mineralization, phase change materials for sustainable thermal energy storage, and waste recycling. He has published more than 30 journal articles, with over 1100 citations and an h-index of 15. He was the prestigious 2021 CEC Dean’s Ph.D. Scholar at Missouri S&T recognition for his exceptional research outcomes. Dr. Liao also actively contributes to the industry as a member of the technical committee of the American Concrete Institute (ACI 122 – Energy Efficiency of Concrete and Masonry Systems) and American Society of Civil Engineers. Additionally, he serves as a reviewer for several esteemed journals such as Cement and Concrete Composites and the Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering.
