MAD-CP-FTMW Spectrometer “Octo”

The Multiple Antenna Detection Chirped Pulse, Fourier Transform Microwave Spectrometer, nicknamed “Octo” for its shape, is located in Schrenk 325. It contains up to five (5) supersonic expansion sources which each have a heated reservoir capability or a dc discharge capability. In addition, the instrument is designed for up to two (2) laser ablation sources to take advantage of multiple nozzle signal enhancement. It has detection points on up to seven (7) antennae and can be constructed to perform microwave three-wave mixing experiments. This instrument, funded by a NSF Major Research Instrumentation Development grant, will be available soon for use by the spectroscopic community.

CP-FTMW Spectrometer “Not Becky”

The Nikon A1R-HD is a fully-automated confocal imaging system able to image in the X, Y, and Z planes with both a high-speed resonant scanner to capture the dynamics of a system and a Galvano scanner to maximize resolution in fixed samples.
