My Teaching Philosophy
Dr. Hong is passionate and patient about working with students both inside and outside the classroom. As a teacher, stimulating students’ interest and motivating the students to go deeper and deeper in mathematics are my crucial ideas in creating a successful studying environment.
Spring 2024 Courses
Math 3304-Elementary Differential Equations
First- and second-order equations; higher order equations; Laplace transform solutions; System of first order linear equations.
- Prerequisite:: Mathematics 1215 (Calculus with Analytic Geometry II) with a grade of “C” or better.
- Textbook: Fundamentals of Differential Equations, 9th edition, Nagle, Saff, Snider, Pearson, 2018. If you want more worked examples, try Schaum’s Outline of Differential Equations, 4th edition, 2014.
