Quarter Highlights
We Saw Foundational Growth
Since August, the Kummer Institute has supported Missouri S&T’s mission by investing in people, programs and facilities. New faculty and leadership hires strengthened research and academic programs, while increased outreach, media coverage and government engagement expanded awareness of S&T’s role in innovation and applied research.
Significant progress continued across major capital projects and research initiatives that drive economic impact. The opening of the new Welcome Center, continued construction on the Missouri Protoplex, Applied Research Center and Bioplex, and new philanthropic and grant investments, including a $19.8 million NSF award, mark momentum in building an ecosystem that supports industry collaboration and workforce development across Missouri.
Student success and STEM engagement remained central to the institute’s work. Kummer Student Programs celebrated entrepreneurial achievements, research milestones and graduating cohorts, while the Kummer Center for STEM Education expanded camps, outreach and on-campus programming to reach thousands of K–12 students and educators statewide. Together, these efforts reflect the Kummer Institute’s commitment to strengthening the talent pipeline, expanding access to STEM education and delivering lasting impact for S&T and the communities it serves.
