Dr. Jim Musser

Biography

Dr. Musser earned his first degree in mathematics. He added a year of graduate work in mathematics and earned a lifetime secondary mathematics teaching certificate in the state of Texas. Dr. Musser taught high school mathematics and coached track and cross-country for a few years before returning to school to pursue a doctorate in physics, specializing in particle physics. He spent twelve years as a faculty member at Arkansas Tech, half of them as department head of Physical Sciences. Dr. Musser has contributed to secondary teacher education certification decisions in both Arkansas and Missouri.

Dr. Musser joined the faculty of Missouri S&T in the Fall of 2017 where he has a primary role in managing Engineering Physics II. He states, “S&T students are highly capable and well-prepared to succeed academically. It is a joy and privilege to facilitate their further development so that they may continue to succeed in their careers.”
