Biography

Connie Shoemaker is an adjunct lecturer in the Arts, Languages & Philosophy department. She teaches a variety of visual arts courses.

Mrs. Shoemaker is a former President of the Missouri Art Education Association and a delegate for the National Art Education Association. She is the recipient of several art awards and has been recognized at both the state and national level for her innovative and effective teaching. Most recently she was recognized as the Western Region Art Educator of the Year. Mrs. Shoemaker has served on multiple boards and committees in furthering arts education, including the Missouri Alliance for Arts Education and updating the latest iteration of the Missouri Learning Standards for the Arts.
