I am a research methodologist and empirical researcher in social sciences especially in psychology and education. I apply various advanced quantitative research methods (e.g., instrumental variable, regression discontinuity design, propensity score methods) to facilitate causal inference based on quasi-experimental statistical methods in the context of large-scale data. Therefore, one advantageous feature of my research is that the statistical inference and findings have both high internal validity (i.e., causality) and external validity (i.e., generalizability). In addition, I utilize meta-analysis methods to combine data-based empirical evidence to inform educational policy and practice.
My research philosophy is that a better understanding of all types of research methodologies can advance the science in the applied areas of psychology and education. Hence, my research goals are to: 1) develop and improve advanced research methods in social sciences, 2) apply advanced quantitative methods to conduct empirical research in critical areas in psychology and education.
