Research

Dr. Wang’s research focuses on modern applied mathematics, with special emphasis on problems related to fluid dynamics, groundwater research, geophysical fluid dynamics, turbulence, and climate change. He effectively employs tools from Partial Differential Equations, Dynamical Systems, Stochastic Analysis, Numerical Analysis, Scientific Computing, and Machine Learning in his research. His work stands out for its combination of rigorous mathematics and real-world physical applications. Over the years, Dr. Wang has been awarded more than a dozen grants from external funding agencies such as the US National Science Foundation and the National Natural Science Foundation of China to support his research efforts. Besides a research monograph published by Cambridge University Press, he has published in mathematics journals such as Communications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, as well as applied discipline journals like the Journal of Fluid Mechanics. Additionally, he serves on the editorial boards of five international mathematics journals.
