Summer Camps

Space the Final Frontier

Are you ready for an intense hands-on challenge to design, build, and fly a small satellite? S&T’s Space the Final Frontier Camp is unlike anything you have ever experienced. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to encounter the edge of outer space.
Your math and science skills will be used to design and construct a small spacecraft to be launched on a high-altitude balloon to 100,000 feet. Throughout the week, instruction will include satellite building and testing, laboratory tours, and interviews with aerospace engineering faculty and students.
The camp will conclude with a high-altitude balloon launch, during which you’ll track your satellite as it travels to the edge of space. After the satellites are recovered, you will receive images and data captured by your satellite from the edge of space that have never been seen before!

Mechanical Crash Course

Have you ever wondered how everyday products are designed? Are you interested in making smart devices and products? Then the mechanical crash course is the camp for you. You will design an autonomous product with high school math and science knowledge. You will see a product’s design cycle, from project definition to test.
This year’s project will be the Design of an Autonomous vehicle to navigate an obstacle course and perform tasks along the obstacle course.
